In the heart of the Apennines, on the slopes of Monte Nerone, lies a small village Pieia. Walking up the hill, which is at 650 meters above sea level, you have a beautiful view.
From here you can continue walking upwards, where you will see a large rock arch at some point. This path also leads to a beautiful stone amphitheatre with high and steep walls. Probably it was once a large cave whose ceiling has collapsed.
Another path at the well of Pieia, which is easily passable, leads you to the arch or natural Bridge Fonte d’Arco, at approx. 800 meters altitude.
There are also many rare plants In this area, so it is a protected area of nature.
