Mondavio, located on a hill, can be seen from afar. The imposing fortress Rovere flanked by city walls, together with the towers and bell towers of the old “Castle”, is an unmissable appearance in the landscape.
At first there was a monastery ,but in the 14th century they built the imposing “Rocca Rovereseca”. In the fort is Museo di Rievocazione Storica located, and you can see how large the weapons are, which they used.
Within the city walls, you can walk through characteristic streets, past the Palazzo Comunale, the old church and the monastery of S. Francesco. Also the small Apollo theatre is worth a visit, it is equipped with various antique decorations.
In the main square there is a large terrace, a wonderful place to drink a cafè or aperitivo.
